Liam is currently in his second stint at Abertillery BG RFC. He has amassed nearly 150 appearances for the club in that time. Liam's previous clubs include Newbridge, where he was a league and Ben Francis cup winner. Liam is a product of our mini and junior section.

Kurtis is a no nonsense runner in the backfield, both elusive and strong. A Wales Rugby League international, Kurtis has over 200 appearances for Abertillery BG RFC and has won Division 3 East, Division 2 and East and Division 1 East with the club. Not just a player, Kurtis also leads the clubs Rugby Tots programme and coaches the clubs under 10s.

Ieuan is a young and dynamic prop, who came through our mini and junior section. He most recently played for Brynmawr RFC in Division 1 East and The Championship. Ieuan joined Abertillery BG RFC halfway through the 24/25 season helping us win the Division 1 East title.

Cai is a product of our min and junior section and played all the way through to youth before entering the first team. A dynamic runner and strong defender Cai has been a mainstay in midfield for the past few seasons.

Dan is an enforcer in the boiler house and player of vast experience. A multiple league winner with Abertillery, Dan is a product of the Dragons age grade set up and came through our mini and junior section.

Comfortable in the centre, at fly half and at fullback, Nathan is box office. Top try scorer for the 24/25 season fans were treated to a masterclass in finishing. From simple run ins to length of the field efforts, Nathan showed his capabilities both at home and away petrifying defences.

Robbie, a product of our pathway, is an explosive ball carrier and hard tackler. Robbie is the definition of explosivity and is worth the entrance fee alone.

Joe Phelps is a quality operator, who is comfortable in both the second row and back row. A formidable ball carrier, Joe is another product of our pathway.

Joel has been our captain for the last 4 season, leading the team to unprecedented success. A good ball player with a great rugby brain, Joel has rich history at this club as his father and grandfather both captained Abertillery.

Rhob has been a consistent performer since joining at the start of the 24/25 season. A nuisance, as all good scrum halves are, with quality service to go with it, Rhob always delivers when it's most required.

Jordan has been a member of the First XV since coming out of youth over a decade ago and is a real clubman. Accurate at the lineout and all action around around the field, Jordan epitomises a modern day hooker.

Marshal, a product of the Ulster academy, is a dynamic ball carrier and is comfortable across the backrow. Additionally, he can also cover the front row. The young Irishman has been a great addition to our squad.

Ieuan is a young prop and a product of our pathway. He can play across the front row and is a destructive scrummager.

Matty, a former footballer, has a great rugby brain and is a safety net at fullback. Matty always has time and space on the ball and rarely makes an error.

Matthew is a lineout specialist and has a great engine. His work rate around the field is second to none. Matthew has often stepped in as captain when required and is a genuine leader.

Daf needs no introduction. Now an elder statesman, he is formidable scrummager with and old school work rate, akin to props of yesteryear. Daf has represented both Crawshays and Monmouthshire County in a stand out career to date.

James is a player of vast experience and has been invaluable since joining the club. He has helped less experienced players within the squad both on and off the field. He has adapted his game in recent years, and has become a gainline specialist. In 24/25, he started every game.

Matthew has been at Abertillery for a long time, coming through our mini and junior section. He came straight from youth into the First XV and is a player that knows his way to the try line.

Will is classy operator comfortable in both the tight and wide spaces. He has great hands and likes a turnover or two. Will is very adaptable and capable of paying across the back row.

Haydn is a dynamic young hooker, and was part of our youth system. His low centre of gravity makes him an awkward customer to deal with. Haydn come through our mini and junior sections.

A young tighthead prop, Evan joined ahead of the 24/25 season. it was his first year of senior rugby. Testament to his potential, he performed well above his age and was trusted in some of the biggest games that year. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Dylan is a workmanlike every week. He rarely misses a tackle and doesn't stop running. A product of our mini and junior sections, before leaving to attend university, Dylan has been back at his hometown club since 2023.

Shaun has been at this club since 5 years of age, and has now nearly 200 senior games. A former youth team captain and senior Player of The Season, Shaun never misses a beat. Mr Dependable, there's no doubting that.

Comfortable across the entire back row, Lewis has been a key player for the club over his career. He captained the first XV in his first season out of youth and his since gone on to make over 150 senior appearances.

Another product of our youth system, Ieuan has now been with the senior squad since 22/23, and during that season he was the top try scorer.

Cam is a powerful young centre that came through our mini and junior pathway from the age of 11. He made his senior debut, while still in youth, during the 2018 season. Since then he has gone on to be mainstay of the senior squad. Cam is a product of the Dragons Regional Age grade system also.
